I haven't been using DW the past several years so I was surprised to log in and find that Heather had deleted her account and made me administrator of this group. There seem to be quite a few people on it. If folks are still about and interested in this group, I'll keep it up, otherwise if everyone has scattered and there is no longer interest, I shall delete the group.

New here on Dreamwidth (freshly migrated from LJ). I'd be interested in seeing the group keep going.

I follow the Lady and Lord of the Wicca. I also honor some of the Greek and Celtic goddesses. Working with Aphrodite lately. She has taught me--or tried to (I'm not sure I've really taken it in yet)--that beauty isn't just the external pretty face; there is *inner* beauty too. Any thoughts on this?

Hi Emerald! Welcome to Dreamwidth! Perhaps it's fortuitous that you have found this community and our paths cross as I am a devotee/priestess of Aphrodite so I work with her a lot.

My only thoughts are to trust what she tells you. Of course, I think she's right. It's all well and good being physically beautiful, but it's good to have something inside as well. Being intelligent, compassionate, wise...it all lends to the inner beauty and that's something that isn't innate or something we're born with. We need to cultivate that.

Thanks for the welcome, Elle! I'd certainly love to talk about Aphrodite with you... I'm using a pink candle, scattered rose petals, and rose oil on my shrine to her. These all seem to be things to please her. I also have a necklace of some kind of pink crystal (quartz?) which I wear when I'm working with her.

What drew you to her, or did she do what she did with me, show up and knock on the back of my head and said, "Hey, you! Pay attention!"?
